WeatherThe Fall 2017 Merit Badge Clinic will be held at the Naperville LDS Church (1320 Ridgeland Ave., Naperville, IL). Registration will be limited to 140 Scouts, and preference on a first-come basis.

  • Date: Saturday, October 21 and November 18 / Time: 8:00-12:00* classes (8:30-10:10 (period 1), 10:20-12:00 (period-2))
  • Who: all Scouts 12 and older who are 1st class or above in rank
  • Merit Badges Offered: Animation, American Cultures, American Heritage, Citizenship in the Nation*, Emergency Preparedness*, Dentistry, Digital Technology, Nuclear Science, Robotics and Weather.
  • Cost: $2 per Scout per MB / Checks payable to: Three Fires Council

Digital TechPlease note the following deadlines:

Scout Registration Deadline (Saturday, October 13th). If possible, please submit scout registration in advance of this date. This will help us project the number/type of counselors needed. Send your registration electronically to mailto:using the Excel form to facilitate “cutting” and “pasting” on our end. To minimize administrative work on our end, please register as a Troop and not as individuals.

Confirmation. Participation will be confirmed to the troop contact by e-mail on or before October 16th, including assigned MB’s and room numbers. This will eliminate lines at the beginning of the clinic, and also allow scouts time to secure MB pamphlets, and prepare. Scouts should come with “blue cards” filled-out and signed by the “unit leader.”

Participant Eligibility. Participants must be 12 years old and 1st class at the time of the clinic.

MB Comments. Some Merit Badges will have requirements that must be done outside of class to earn the merit badge.

HELP! Thanks to those who have helped in past clinics. Adult help is needed in different capacities. These include administrative help at the front end, help in confirming/recruiting MB counselors, 2-deep leadership in the classes, hall monitors, and help in processing material after the clinic. If you are able to help in any capacity, please contact me. Any help is appreciated.

Payment. A troop check payable to Three Fires Council can be delivered to the administration table. The cost is $2 per scout per merit badge. So if a Scout signs up for two merit badges then his portion would be $4.
