The Fall 2016 Merit Badge Clinic will be held at the Naperville LDS Stake Center (1320 Ridgeland Ave., Naperville, IL). Registration will be limited to 200 Scouts, and preference on a first-come basis.
- Date: Saturday, October 22nd and November 19th / Time: 8:00-12:00* classes (8:30-10:10 (period 1), 10:20-12:00 (period-2))
- Who: all Scouts 12 and older who are 1st class or above in rank
- Merit Badges Offered: Automotive Maintenance, Chess, Citizenship in the World*, Communications*, Genealogy, Reading, Salesmanship, Sustainability* and Truck Transportation.
- Cost: $2 per Scout per MB / Checks payable to: Three Fires Council
Please note the following deadlines:
Counselor Submission Deadline (Saturday, October 1st ). If your troop plans on participating, please submit recommendations for counselors (that you have confirmed availability) to me by Saturday, October 4th. We need your help in recruiting MB counselors for Digital Technology, a new MB that we are offering. Counselor submissions well in advance of this date are appreciated. This will allow for adequate time to confirm registration with the council, contact counselors and for them to prepare.
Confirmation. Participation will be confirmed to the troop contact by e-mail on or before October 18th, including assigned MB’s and room numbers. This will eliminate lines at the beginning of the clinic, and also allow scouts time to secure MB pamphlets, and prepare. Scouts should come with “blue cards” filled-out and signed by the “unit leader.”
Participant Eligibility. Participants must be 12 years old and 1st class at the time of the clinic.
MB Comments. Some Merit Badges will have requirements that must be done outside of class to earn the merit badge.
HELP! Thanks to those who have helped in past clinics. Adult help is needed in different capacities. These include administrative help at the front end, help in confirming/recruiting MB counselors, 2-deep leadership in the classes, hall monitors, and help in processing material after the clinic. If you are able to help in any capacity, please contact me. Any help is appreciated.
Payment. A troop check payable to Three Fires Council can be delivered to the administration table. The cost is $2 per scout per merit badge. So if a Scout signs up for two merit badges then his portion would be $4.
