Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills - Friday, April 26 6pm to Saturday April 27, 2019 at 5pm - Who: Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Members, Venturing Crew leaders, Chartered Organizational Representatives and anyone interested in learning basic outdoor camping skills for the Scouts BSA Program.. Minimum age is 18yrs / Satisfactory completion of this course is part of the Basic Leader Training for all Scoutmasters and ASMs wishing to be certified as “Trained” for their position, and recommended for anyone wishing to take Wood Badge or learn basic camping skills. This is an overnight camping course. You will need to bring your own tent, camp chair and personal gear as needed. Most of the sessions are taught outside, so wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. Friday night cracker barrel and breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be provided. Arrive 5:00-6:30 P.M. on Friday- Depart about 5 P.M. Saturday (Rain/shine/snow) / Where: Right HERE at Von Oven Scout Reservation, 701 S. West Street, Naperville / Cost: $35 per person

For Cub Scout aged Scouts, Siblings and Friends entering 1st grade thru 5th grade in the Fall of 2019. Our Mysterious Adventure Program differs between each camp and may include: BB Range, Archery Range, Games, Sports, Nature, Crafts, STEM, Climbing Tower, GaGa Ball and other Mysterious Adventures! Early drop-off and pick-up is available with locations throughout the western suburbs.
Join us for the 2019 Thunderbird Adult Appreciation Dinner on Friday May 10, 2019 at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 908 W. Jackson Ave, Naperville. Social Hour ~ 6-7pm / Dinner ~ 7pm. Guest Speaker & Awards Ceremony ~ 8pm+ / This is a non-uniform (business casual) event open to all adults…unit leaders, committee members, parents, and all who are involved in the Scouting program in our community. Each Pack/Troop/Crew has the opportunity to award a Silver Acorn to one of their key volunteers. We will also recognize key volunteers who provide service to our entire community with the District Award of Merit and Spark Plug awards.
The Silver Acorn Award is given by Thunderbird District and is the best way to recognize your unit’s most valuable and outstanding adult.
♦ Each unit is entitled to award one (1) Silver Acorn annually. Award presentation will be made only at the Thunderbird District Adult Recognition Dinner on Friday, May 10, 2019.
♦ The award is presented at no cost to the unit, but all recipients or a representative of the unit must be present at the dinner to receive the award. All recipients and others wishing to attend must reserve and purchase dinner tickets to the recognition dinner. Reservations are not automatic with the nomination. Reservations must be made on the dinner reservation form and are subject to available space.
