Welcome to the Thunderbird District! We serve Lisle, Woodridge & Naperville (School District 203), Illinois, and are part of the Boy Scouts of America, Three Fires Council #127.
The Fall 2017 Merit Badge Clinic will be held at the Naperville LDS Church (1320 Ridgeland Ave., Naperville, IL). Registration will be limited to 140 Scouts, and preference on a first-come basis.
- Date: Saturday, October 21 and November 18 / Time: 8:00-12:00* classes (8:30-10:10 (period 1), 10:20-12:00 (period-2))
- Who: all Scouts 12 and older who are 1st class or above in rank
- Merit Badges Offered: Animation, American Cultures, American Heritage, Citizenship in the Nation*, Emergency Preparedness*, Dentistry, Digital Technology, Nuclear Science, Robotics and Weather.
- Cost: $2 per Scout per MB / Checks payable to: Three Fires Council
2017 Training Academy is scheduled on Veterans Day. Because military service closely aligns with many of the 12 points of the Scout Law, honoring veterans’ service is only natural! Semper Educatus means “always training” literally and “training for life” in Scouting terms. What better way to honor your Scouting service and your efforts to enhance your unit’s program? Attend Training Academy for new ideas! From collaborative, leader-specific classes to enrichment courses, there’s something for everyone: rocketry, wood carving, cooking, advancement special needs strategies, STEM-focused classes, and much, much more!

Where: Sycamore High School, 427 Spartan Trail, Sycamore.
What: Adult training for all levels of Scouting (Cub Scout, Webelos, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing). Take up to five classes during the day. Register today to ensure the classes you want are still open!

Cost: $30 early bird (on or before October 27th) | $35 after October 27th / Extras: The Scout Shop will be open all day. The Vendor Midway will be open during lunch and hosts vendors with ideas, activities, and products to enhance your unit’s program.

What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge is the premier adult training program of the Boy Scouts of America. It teaches contemporary leadership and team development skills in an outdoor setting. Its purpose is to aid Scouters in providing a quality program that will enable Scouts to grow to their greatest potential. The course encompasses key concepts of management skills, from leaders in the management field; therefore, this course can be helpful not only in your Scouting job, but also in your career, personal and religious life.
